BBQ Smokers: Allowed In Any Home or Yard
Smokers use the heat of the wood smoke to cook versus the heat of flames. This is as close to pit cooking as you will get in a subdivision. You will tastethe smokiness throughout the meat and it can be very tasty. They are made from a steel barrel and cook your food much slower than their grill counterparts. Many serious grillers like to add a little flare with cooking a few smoked items to their menu. Size varies, some can hold an entire pig - talk about impressing your neighbors.
